Welcome

Many users have found that the documentation of phpChess was ...a bit thin, and a bit out of date. The wiki is therefore helpful to the phpChess community in 3 ways:

a) ease of maintenance
b) community based (all “features” are documented)
c) up to date

From phpChess’ point of view it makes 3 other things better:

a) We can spend more time on coding.
b) We can let developers document their stuff directly.
c) Users can share their add-ons with others.

phpChess is made up of several elements. At the heart of phpChess sits our chess server, which can be installed on a web server (or can be hosted by us). The phpChess chess server is web friendly, and is managed, administered and played on via the web (pure html served). Players can access your chess server via a variety of clients. Your players may use the web browser of their choice, the mobile client, or the client for PC (see links below). We also offer a Yahoo! widget and Vista Gadget to give status updates from your phpChess server.

Here you can post and update language files (foundon the phpchess server installation in includes/languages. Simply rightclick on the link and select “save as”
